Blue Peace ME Youth Fellowship Programme Empowers Regional Leaders to Drive Water Cooperation.

Emerging Leaders from Six Countries Advance Youth-Led Solutions for Regional Water Challenges.

Amman, Jordan – The Blue Peace Middle East (Blue Peace ME) Youth Fellowship Programme (YFP) has successfully concluded its second cohort, bringing together six exceptional young leaders from Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Türkiye, Iran, and Syria. Building on the success of the first cohort, and with the completion of this second edition, the programme has established the foundation for the Blue Peace ME Youth Ambassadors, a network of emerging leaders committed to fostering regional cooperation and innovative solutions to water-related challenges.

Guided by the vision of HRH Prince El Hassan bin Talal and under the theme “Shaping Future Cooperation Through Intra-Independencies,” the fellows have developed a pioneering multilateral cooperation framework rooted in Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem (WEFE) Nexus principles. Their work represents a significant step toward strengthening intergenerational approaches to regional water diplomacy and advancing youth-led solutions for complex transboundary challenges.

The programme’s closing ceremony celebrated the fellows’ achievements and formally marked their transition into Blue Peace ME Youth Ambassadors, granting them institutional recognition and a platform for continued impact in shaping regional water strategies.

“Let us celebrate not just our fellows graduation, but our shared commitment to a region where water connects rather than divides, where youth lead rather than follow, and where hope transforms into action”, said H.E. Mr. MohamedAmin Faris Amin, Chair of Managing Committee at Blue Peace Middle East.

The event brought together distinguished regional and international representatives, including senior diplomats and officials, members of the Blue Peace ME Managing Committee, representatives from the initiative’s exclusive donor Switzerland, officials from hosting entity of the initiative’s coordination office INWRDAM, and members of the Senior Media Network. Their presence underscored the programme’s significance in fostering regional cooperation, youth engagement, and multilateral dialogue on water diplomacy, providing a platform for meaningful connections between emerging leaders and key stakeholders.

The gathering also enabled the young leaders to engage directly with decision-makers, experts, and regional stakeholders, reinforcing a collective commitment to sustained youth participation, innovation, and collaboration in addressing water challenges across the Middle East. The Blue Peace ME Youth Ambassadors will continue to engage in regional initiatives, dialogue platforms, and collaborative projects, applying the insights and frameworks developed during the fellowship to advance transboundary water cooperation in the Middle East.
