PROGRAMME BRIEF

June, July, August 2025 Jordan, Türkiye

IN-PERSON

From July towards the end of August, fellows will be in Amman, Jordan, for a two-months immersive experience to deepen their expertise in water diplomacy and management. Under the guidance of a dedicated lead mentor, they will draft a regional resources management cooperation framework, address knowledge gaps, and strengthen skills through technical and policy-based learning.

Midway, they will head to Türkiye for a one-week advanced training on negotiation strategies and power dynamics in transboundary water disputes—featuring a real-time simulation to apply their learning in real-world contexts.

PRE-SELECTION

Once applications close, all submissions will be reviewed based on eligibility, motivation, and alignment with the programme's objectives. Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an online interview to assess their communication skills, leadership potential, and understanding of key themes such as the WEFE Nexus and Water Diplomacy.

Successful candidates will receive an official acceptance letter by the end of May 2025.

ONLINE

Selected fellows will begin their journey in June, engaging in a series of online learning modules and virtual sessions. These include expert-led webinars, reading assignments, and interactive discussions to build a strong foundation on key concepts like regional cooperation, sustainable development, and water governance, concluding with a final assignment to apply and reflect on what they have learned.

This phase ensures that all fellows begin the in-person segment on equal footing, with a shared language and understanding of the core themes.
